Activity 4: My favourite film

MY FAVOURITE FILM

We have finished studying vocabulary on cinema and films. Now you are ready to write a film review of a film of your own choice.

1- To write the film review go to http://justpaste.it/ . The format is similar to a Word document.
Write the text here or you paste the text directly from Word processor or WWW page.

2- Include a picture to support the text. You can upload pictures

3- Include links to some important words, which need further explanation.

4- Finally include a video. Click on HTML and paste the URL . Important: If you can choose a video from Youtube, at the end of the URL write [video] and then copy and paste it in the HTML section of this site. Then click on´' Editor' again you will be able to watch the video.

5- Click on ' Publish´ and you will be given a site where your work will be published.

6- Finally you can save it as a PDF document.

Activity 3: My comic

MY COMIC

We have read the short story ' The Hitchhiker´ by Roald Dahl. Now you have to create a comic strip illustrating the part of the story you enjoyed the most. Go to http://www.toondoo.com/ and follow the instructions below.

1- Create an account. Use your email address and a password you will easily remember.


2- Now, click on ' Tools' and then choose Toondoo maker and select the layout of your story: Vertical or horizontal. Wait until Toondoo uploads it.

3- You have a wide range of tools to work on such as characters, bubbles, props, specials or you can also upload your own picture. Remember that in order to create your strip, click on the selected item and drag it to the blank picture.
You can also click on ' TraitR' to create your own character. Here you can choose facial gestures, clothes, body postures, etc.  If you click on ' imageR' you will be able to upload your own pictures, which you can save in your gallery and then use. If you click on ' DoodleR' you will be able to edit your comic strips as if it were paintbrush. Once your picture is finished, save it in your gallery and remember to give it a title so that you can search for it later on.

4- On the top left hand corner, click on Toondoo start here and save it ( click on save as). Then give it a title, write a very short description, and click on ' publish' . Now you Toondoo is ready: click on ' OK´  and now your comic strip will show up on the screen.

5- You can download it, share it with friends online, use the embed code.

Activity 2: My favourite holidays!!

MY FAVOURITE HOLIDAYS!!

We have talked about our favourite holidays in our lives. Now it is your turn to show us your recollections of your best holidays ever.
You have to create a video of your holidays using http://photopeach.com 

• Read the following guidelines that will help you create the video:

1- Go to http://photopeach.com and create an account. Pleaser use your email address and a password you will easily remember.

2- Step 1: click on ' Upload photos' and choose those photos which remind you of your best holidays. 


3- Step 2: Here you will see all the photos you have uploaded on the left of the screen. You can drag and drop photos to change the play order, you can also double- click to see a large preview. If there are photos you do not want to include, just drag photos to the right side to delete. Click on 'Next´at the end of the screen.

4- Step 3: Here you can decide on a title. Write a caption for each photo. Also, choose a music background to your video: You can select a piece of music already provided by Photopeach or you can choose a video from Youtube. The selected song will play over the show. Choose a  Once your song is chosen, click on ' Finish' at the end of the screen.

5-  Now you are ready to enjoy your video!!!

6- If you want to edit your video, click on ' edit' and you will be directed to the previous screen.

7- You can share your video with your friends, email it, or even download it and save it in your pc.

Activity 1: Halloween party

WELCOME TO HALLOWEEN PARTY!!!!

You are organizing a Halloween party. Everything is ready, except the invitations. Now visit

   www.wigflip/automotivator , follow the instructions below and be ready to design the invitations to your guests!!!

1- Choose a picture you want to use in your invitation. You can choose from the computer, the web or a sample picture.

2- Once you click on the selected picture, the same will show out. Now on the left of the screen you can write the title and the text you want to appear on the picture.

3- When you finish writing both title and text, clik on preview. You will be able to see your invitation.

4- Click on save and then choose what you want to do with it: save it on your computer, save it to Flickr or just print it.

5- Finally, you can save it on your computer and email it to your friends or print it and hand it out.

This film review was designed using http://justpaste.it/ . This site allows you to write a text and edit it at your will.

You can write your text, or upload a word document. You can also insert images, links and even videos. Once you finish your work, you publish it so as to have a preview and then save it in your computer. Finally, you get a PDF document which you cannot later modify. Otherwise, you have to go back to the website and edit it as you wish.

Are you a comic fan? Now you can create your own comics using www.ToonDoo.com .
This website allows you to choose your own characters. It also offers a wide range of tools to choose so as to make your own comics. You can select the number of pictures, the background, upload pictures and even create your own characters.

ToonDoo is a wonderful and inspiring site. This is an example of a comic. In this comic, both characters were designed by me, such as the clothes, the hairstyle, the face, body gestures, etc. However, there are characters already provided by this site. I also uploaded the picture of a room and then pasted the bubbles for the dialogue. Once you finish, you can get a preview, and then keep it in your pc, publish it, share it with friends or embed the code and post in your blog or wiki.

I found ToonDoo really motivating since you only have to be creative, the rest is provided by the site.

Pay a look at this comic, then try an activity here and let yourself be carried away by your creativity!!!

This is a project on global issues. The video below  was created using http://photopeach.com . You upload photos from your computer and then select the ones you want to be displayed on the video. Captions can also be included to be shown as each photo comes out on the screen. Music can also be added; you can either choose a musical instrument provided by the website or you can also  select a video from Youtube.


www.photopeach.com is an appealing site which encourages your creativity and very easy to use.


Watch the video below as as to see a sample activity. This video consists of different photos showing different aspects of global issues, our main concern. That counts for the choice of the title ´What to care for…´. The song ´Where is the Love?´ by The Black Eyed Peas was chosen since it deals with these issues. For each picture, a line from the song was included so as to illustrate the underlying message.
